Sauveuse Côtes de Provence red 2005
This great wine has a deep ruby colour with scents of liquorice and herbs. The first taste is vivid, with an explosion of matured and jammy fruits and some discrete woody notes. The tannins are silky with a good lasting finish.
Made from Grenache (28%), Syrah (26%), Mourvèdre (24%) and Cabernet Sauvignon (22%), it has an alcohol content of 13°.
Aged in oak barrels for 12 months to develop some complexity and lightly filtered before bottling, there is likely to be a light deposit in the wine. Drink frequently with red meats or with friends but open early and serve at room temperature (16-18°C)
If you can resist drinking it and want to lay it down for a few more years, it has the makings of an exceptional wine.
