They had three children and in 1974 they handed on to each a one third share of the farm. Unfortunately these individual lots were not economically viable and so his father worked in a factory to supplement his income. He still tended to the land and took his grape harvest to the local cooperative where they made it into wine.

 

In 1992 his father retired and handed his farm to Christian. At the time Christian was working as finance director for a local company. With a little investment from his parents he bought more land and vines and so began his new venture at Domain Benedetti.

Throughout, the family had always tended to the vines with the grapes going to the cooperative in Courthezon to be made into wine.  In 1998 Christian decided to leave the cooperative and begin his own wine production. In 2000 he took the decision to convert to organic production without any assistance or grant. His rationale was simply to be in harmony with nature, the environment and health.
