 Ferran Bordeaux AOC 2005 Special Reserve
The colour is the clear colour of a red ruby.The aroma is woody with lots of vanilla, blackberry and blackcurrant.
The taste...ah the taste, bursts in the mouth with hints of vanilla, raspberry and blackberry. It has good balanced tannins and a long lasting finish.
This is aged in oak barrels to bring additional compexity to the wine. It is indeed special, but not at all reserved.
Made from a 50%/50% blend of Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignan, this is left for several weeks in the cuve to bring out all the flavours before being aged in oak barrels for at least 12 months.
Regular tastings by Alain (lucky man!) ensure that the wine is bottled at the optimum time.
In conversion to biodynamic agriculture.
Open at least 2 hours before drinking to ensure you get the benefit of all those aromas. Keep the wine at a temperature of around 16/17 degrees C for the best results.
