Montchovet Bourgogne Hautes Côtes de Beaune AOC 2001
A typical Burgundy wine, full of flavours and tannins and with a subtle and varied bouquet full of red fruits and woody undergrowth. You can drink it now but it will just get better with a few years keeping, becoming softer and more delicate.
This wine is made from Pinot Noir - the great red grape of Burgundy. The vines are between 5 and 50 years old and grown on the chalky-clay soil of Domaine Montchovet. The grapes are then picked by hand, given a long fermentation in wooden barrels (up to 25 days), then transferred into oak vats for around 12 months to mature and develop the required level of complexity.
Drink with most meats and cheeses and serve between 14 to 16 degrees C.
