 Montchovet Pommard AOC 2004
One of the great Burgundy wines full of complexity and character for those special occasions - weddings, birthdays, sunday roasts, etc.
This wine is made from Pinot Noir grapes grown on a chalk and clay plot.
The vines are over 40 years old and all the grapes are hand-picked. After fermentation, the wine is transferred into oak barrels to mature for anywhere between 10 and 20 months, the exact timings being down to the winemaker's judgement.
Pommard is one of the true Burgundy wines, and is a serious wine that can be laid down for many years (if you can wait that long.) It is best drunk between 4 and 12 years and goes with all types of meat and cheese.
Serve between 14 and 16°C.
